Jojoba Oil (Simmondsia chinensis)*: Jojoba is a natural plant wax produced by the seeds of a desert shrub. The seeds, brimming with stored moisture, are collected and cold-pressed to release a liquid similar to our skins sebum. Because jojoba is a plant wax and not an oil, it does not go rancid and is used in our skincare products to maintain maximum shelf life and potency. It provides phytonutrients to the skin while blending in effortlessly, leaving no oily residue behind. Jojoba is the ultimate moisturizer, and delivers long-lasting skin conditioning. It forms the base of our beauty oils due to its abundance of phytonutrients, antioxidants, and vitamin E.

 

Tamanu Oil (Calophyllum inophyllum)*: Tamanu oil is cold-pressed from the seeds of wild Tamanu trees, found primarily in Vietnam. This rich, nutty oil is high in phospholipids and glycolipids, which help to provide a barrier for the skin, locking moisture in and blocking toxins and bacteria out. Tamanu oil also contributes to healthy-looking skin by assisting the skin cells' reparative functions; soothing inflammation, redness, and acne with ease.

 

Frankincense EO (Boswellia rivae)†: This precious, complexion-calming essential oil is like heaven in a bottle. It is exceptional at toning and rejuvenating the skin, with a particular affinity for repairing skin damage. It has antiseptic and anti-inflammatory qualities, which make it useful for healing wounds, sunburns, acne, and rosacea. This wonderful-smelling, wild-harvested plant is one of the only remaining Frankincense species to be sustainably harvested, with strict regulations set in place for harvesting and preservation (read more about declining plant species and the oils we choose to protect in our blog post here).

 

Yarrow EO (Achillea millefolium)*: Yarrow essential oil is anti-inflammatory and deeply calming to both the skin as well as the mind. It possesses soothing, cooling properties to ease aggravated/troubled skin, as well as effectively destroying bacteria which causes breakouts and blackheads. Yarrow works with the skin to enhance its natural moisture barrier, speed healing and cell regeneration, and smooth fine lines and wrinkles.

 

Peppermint EO (Mentha piperita)*: Peppermint essential oil helps to balance sebum (the skin's natural oil) production while providing a powerful dose of antiseptic and antimicrobial action to keep breakouts at bay. It's natural menthol content helps to encourage healthy blood circulation while enhancing skin tone, and its minty fresh aroma helps to awaken the face, body, and mind.

 

Patchouli EO (Pogostemon cablin)*: Patchouli essential oil helps to relieve dry, irritated, inflamed skin by lending its moisturizing and soothing properties. Patchouli's active compounds help to stimulate muscle contractions, reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles in the skin. It also acts as a healing agent to detox the skin while providing a grounding and balancing effect with its strong, earthy scent.

 

Tea Tree EO (Melaleuca alternifolia)*: Our Australian tea tree essential oil is incredibly healing and soothing to the skin. It has been used for centuries as a reliable wound-healer, helping to target skin ailments from acne and eczema, to sunburns and yeast infections; making it the perfect addition to our well-rounded formula.

Apply 3-6 drops onto clean fingertips and massage into face in a circular motion. This product can also be used as a spot treatment on especially dry patches of skin anywhere on the face or body.

 

Caution: Discontinue use if irritation occurs. Always perform a patch test prior to using essential oil products by applying a small amount of product onto the inside of the arm to see if a reaction occurs. Avoid use around the eyes, mouth, or other sensitive areas of the body.
