Peppermint (Mentha piperita)*: Peppermint leaves add that minty taste we all know and love, while helping to ease digestive issues, clear congestion, relieve tension headaches and migraines, improve energy and sleep quality, and enhance memory.
Rhodiola Root (Rhodiola crenulata)*: Rhodiola is known for its ability to improve memory and energy levels while decreasing stress and anxiety within the body. While Rhodiola rosea is more beneficial to athletes who want to enhance their performance, Rhodiola crenulata (used in this blend) is more helpful for relieving chronic stress while improving heart health, making it the perfect daily adaptogen to include in your tea-drinking routine.
Lemon Balm (Melissa officinalis)*: Lemon balm is a wonderfully bright-tasting herb with very relaxing properties. It can help to ease anxiety and stress as well as pain and discomfort from indigestion. It has been known to help ease insomnia when consumed regularly, and can be beneficial for those experiencing mood swings, depression, or inflammation.
Orange Peel (Citrus sinensis)*: Rich in antioxidants and vitamin C, the peel of organic oranges has been said to contain more health benefits than the fruit itself! In addition to adding a slight citrusy flavour to this uplifting tea blend, orange peel can help to improve digestion, regulate blood sugar, and enhance available collagen in the body to combat signs of aging. Nothing to be bummed about here!
St John's Wort (Hypericum perforatum)*: More and more studies are being conducted about this beautiful plant's ability to act as well as traditional SSRI's (commonly used to treat depression), with amazing results being found, including fewer side effects! St John's Wort has a natural ability to make more serotonin, dopamine and norepinephrine available in the brain, which are the three main neurotransmitters responsible for boosting mood and alleviating symptoms of depression. It can help reduce anxiety, stress, and tension, as well as insomnia, irritability, and nerve pain. As with all herbal remedies, please consult with a qualified health practitioner before consuming this tea daily. St John's Wort can affect other medications, especially anti-depressants, as well as oral contraceptives (birth control), so make sure you are adding this tea into your lifestyle safely and consciously.
Gingko (Gingko biloba)*: One of the best memory-sharpening tools there is, gingko is an antioxidant-rich herb which has been used traditionally for enhancing circulation, lowering blood pressure, and improving eye and brain health. It is both stimulating and soothing, and can help to ease anxiety, stress, and PMS, making it a perfect plant ally for our uplifting tea blend.
