St. Johns Wort Tincture
The most well-known ally for mild-to-moderate depression, St.Johns Wort is invaluable for its ability to increase the activity of brain chemicals such as seratonin and noradrenaline, which play a large part in improving and regulating our mood. It has undergone 30 clinical studies and been proven to be as effective as SSRIs such as Prozac or Zoloft, but with fewer side effects. This tincture can be used to ease depression, anxiety, ADHD, OCD, menopausal symptoms, and inflammation.

St. Johns Wort (Hypericum perforatum)*: We lovingly harvest the fresh aerial tops of organically-grown St.Johns Wort while in flower during the summer season on southern Vancouver Island, and tincture immediately to preserve its potent medicinal value.
Organic Grain Alcohol: We are proud to offer a truly local and unique line of tinctures made with the the highest-quality alcohol from Ampersand Distillery. This clear, smooth alcohol is locally-produced in Duncan, BC and is made using milled, fermented, and distilled wheat from certified organic BC farms. *For those with celiac disease or sensitivity to gluten, please note that once any grain is distilled, there are no traceable levels of gluten remaining in the alcohol. As such, it is considered to be gluten-free.*
Fresh herb / menstruum ratio: 1:2 @ 65% ABV

ADULTS: Take 1-2 mL (30-60 drops) up to 3 times daily in a little water on an empty stomach, or as directed by your health care practitioner.

St. Johns Wort tincture can weaken/counteract the effects of many conventional medications. As such, please consult with a health care practitioner if you are currently taking any antidepressants, birth control pills, cyclosporine, heart medications (including digoxin and ivabradine), HIV drugs (including indinavir and nevirapine), cancer medications (including irinotecan and imatinib), anticoagulants/blood-thinners (including warfarin), or statins (including simvastatin).
CONTRAINDICATIONS
Discontinue use at least 2 weeks before any surgery. Avoid prolonged bodily exposure to sunlight, ultraviolet light (UV) or UV therapy.
